80% of professionals in the Icelandic labour market use AI at work, but only 34% have received training from their employer (Viska 2025). Most managers know they need to act but do not know where to start. The assessment is the answer to exactly that question: 90 minutes, a report within a week, no commitment.
What happens in the 90 minutes?
The assessment is a structured working session, not a sales pitch. We come to you or hold the meeting online, talk to 2 to 4 key people and go through a fixed agenda. You do not need to prepare anything other than showing up.
0 to 20 min We map current usage: who uses what, for which tasks, with which subscriptions
20 to 40 min. Risk picture: which data goes where today and where the weak spots are
40 to 75 min. Workflow analysis: we look for repetitive, time-consuming tasks that can be automated
75 to 90 min. Grant map and next steps: which vocational training funds apply to your staff
This is the same method we use at the start of every AI Sprint. The difference is that here you get the analysis for free, regardless of whether you continue working with us.
The report: four things in black and white within a week
Within a week of the meeting you receive a short report. Not a 40-page consulting document, but one a management team can read in 15 minutes and make decisions from. It has four parts:
- Usage map. Where AI is already in use at your company, formally and informally. Most companies are surprised here: usage is almost always greater than managers think, just invisible and unorganised.
- Risk picture. Which data is going into which tools, where rules are missing and what needs fixing first. This is the foundation of a usage policy, a task only 14% of Icelandic companies have completed (Statistics Iceland 2025).
- 3 to 5 automatable workflows with time estimates. Not general ideas, but your own workflows, with an estimate of how many working hours per month each of them ties up today. Some workflows do not just get faster with automation, they disappear entirely.
- Grant map. Which vocational training funds apply to your staff and what they pay. Entitlements depend on unions, and few managers have an overview of them.
The grant map alone pays for the meeting
The fourth part of the report surprises most people the most. Vocational training funds reimburse companies a large share of training costs, but the entitlements are spread across many funds according to the employees' unions.
Starfsafl, for example, reimburses companies up to 90% of training costs, capped at 4 million ISK per year. The funds for retail and office workers offer comparable terms for that group. In the assessment we map out exactly which funds apply to your staff, and if you later do training with us, we prepare the application for you.
In practice this means that many companies that think training is a major expense have already paid for it through their contributions to the funds. They just have not collected the money yet.
No commitment, really
Let us be honest about the business model: the assessment is also a sales process for us. Some of those who book it go on to a trial day or an AI Sprint, and that is how the free work pays for itself. But the report is yours, regardless of what happens next.
You can take the workflow list and work through it yourself. You can use the risk picture as the basis for your own usage policy. You can apply for the grants for any training provider. No follow-up pressure, no fine print.
The reason we dare to do this is simple: 95% of corporate AI projects deliver no measurable results because people get the tools but not the training (MIT NANDA). A company that sees its workflows and working hours in black and white usually wants the work done with people who do this every day. If not, it has still received the most useful document of the year for free.
What you can do right now
- Write down the three recurring tasks your team spends the most time on: reports, quotes, answering enquiries, data entry. This is the raw material for the workflow analysis and a useful overview whether or not you book an assessment.
- Ask the team who already uses AI and for what. An anonymous survey with two questions is enough. The gap between actual usage and what managers think is almost always bigger than people expect.
- Look up your staff's unions. A list of the unions is the first step in seeing which vocational training funds apply to you, and it takes ten minutes to compile from the payroll system.
